What is Internet

Internet is formed by group of computers connected together in the world called World Wide Network. This internet is mainly formed to share or transfer the information from one computer to other Computer. By using Internet we can transfer files from our system to any other system located at any place in the world that is connected in the World Wide Network. for example you can send the data from your Computer Located in India to the other Computer Located in The USA(United States of America),UK, Canada, Australia e.t.c.  This transfer or sharing of data between 2 or more computers located at different places is done by using TCP/IP Protocols. In the World Wide Network each and every system will be given a dedicated  unique IP address. Every system in the network will be identified only by using this IP address. By using Internet you can browse many files that are created and stored by others in the network. In order to access files from other computer in the network and transfer files from your Personal Computer(PC) to other computer in the network you should have an Internet connection to your computer. the speed at which you will get the file from the other system is depending on the type of connection and speed (bandwidth) of the connection you have. There are many types of Internet Connections are available which will help your computer connect to the World wide network.
